Digital Reasoning of Nashville, TN announced on March 28 that Chris Cashwell will lead the company’s growing healthcare practice as vice president. In this new role, Cashwell will oversee a dedicated team focused on deploying AI solutions that solve real-world healthcare challenges. As part of the executive team, he will identify new opportunities to contribute to overall business growth.
“At Digital Reasoning, we’re focused on creating AI solutions that transform how the world’s largest organizations run and serve their constituents – and the healthcare industry is the natural next frontier for our technology,” said Kathy DeKam, chief people officer at Digital Reasoning. “We’re excited to have Chris lead our healthcare efforts. With his strong experience and relationships in healthcare IT, he’s the perfect fit to drive the company into our next phase of growth.”
Cashwell has more than 20 years of experience leading both large and small healthcare IT companies. Most recently, he served as chief executive officer at Lincor Solutions, where he was responsible for strategy and operations for the global patient engagement technology provider. Prior to that, Cashwell was a senior director at Nuance Healthcare, leading cross-functional strategies to bring new AI technology to the market. In his previous roles, Cashwell primarily focused on growing recurring revenue business models and expanding use cases for natural language processing (NLP) in healthcare.
As the healthcare market shifts with AI and analytics at the forefront of IT initiatives, Cashwell will help Digital Reasoning anticipate new industry needs to ensure solutions are aligned. Cashwell will also ensure Digital Reasoning’s healthcare practice contributes to the profitability of the company. The company’s software solution for hospitals focuses on operational quality, efficiency and experience for nurse navigators and tumor registrars. The solution has proven results reducing time to treatment by seven days, improved operating productivity for navigation programs over 85% and increased patient retention across organizations. It is already deployed at nearly 170 hospitals around the country.
“In recent years, I’ve seen the healthcare market evolve, opening up to the value proposition that AI brings,” said Cashwell. “The technology Digital Reasoning has created is having tremendous impacts on quality and financial outcomes for leading health systems while creating better lives for patients, physicians and families. I’m proud to join this growing team and enthusiastic to see how we further this mission in the near term.”
