Falls Church, VA-based Cognosante announced on March 20 the appointment of retired U.S. Army Captain Scott Davidson as chief contracts officer.
With more than 15 years of professional consulting and contracts management experience supporting federal clients, Davidson will oversee Cognosante’s new business contract growth. He will also be responsible for strategic partnerships, proposal operations, pricing, and contract compliance activities.
“Scott is a reputable leader specializing in acquisition compliance and the life cycle of Federal government contracts. This combined experience makes him an excellent addition to the Cognosante leadership team and will help Cognosante reach the next level,” said Michele Kang, Cognosante founder and CEO.
Davidson joins Cognosante from The GCO Consulting Group (GCO), which he cofounded in 2009. At GCO, Davidson served as the Managing Principal, providing specialized management consulting expertise in General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule contracting compliance, Federal contract management and compliance services, and Federal proposal and business development support. Over the past 10 years he has advised numerous companies in all areas of government contracts compliance and risk mitigation.
Davidson, named among the top influential veterans in the United States by HillVets in 2017, has also served honorably in the U.S. Army as both enlisted soldier and a commissioned officer. He has served multiple combat tours and is the recipient of a Bronze Star Medal for an act of personal bravery. Davidson medically retired from the U.S. Army in 2007 due to Injuries sustained during his tour in Iraq.
